Ahhh, nothing ever stays the same does it? Well, Eurobike definitely seemed the same this year as the last 4 years I’ve gone. A lot of road & MTB companies, a sprinkling of BMX companies, and the goofy Spandex fashion show. Ha ha. But there definitely was MORE BMX there this year, so that was cool. It’s a pretty chill show for me to go to each year. I basically spend the 1st 1/2 of each day walking the show & checking out various booths & companies. Then the 2nd 1/2 of each day is spent having meetings with a bunch of parts companies that we use on the SE bikes. Meeting @ 1pm w/ a crank company in hall A-2, meeting @ 2pm w/ a hub company in hall B-5, meeting @ 3pm with a pedal company in hall A-4. And so on. So yeah, it does get a bit hectic. But still fun.
So what other changes are going down? Well, one of them is that I am in transition from being SE’s Product Manager AND Brand Manager, to becoming JUST the Brand Manager. It will be a welcome change as it seems like 80% of the time, I am stuck @ my computer in contact with our factories in Asia & stuff. I will still be in charge of all bike design & stuff. But we are looking to hire someone as the SE Product Manager who will carry out all the changes & stuff. I then will have more time to travel with our sales reps, get to contests & races, work closer with the team, develop relationships with SE dealers, and basically be back in the mix. It seems like I have been “behind the scenes” for years now. So if you missed me lately, I’ll be back soon. Ha ha.
Pic below is @ the Lasco crank company’s booth. I look forward to going to this one each year….
