Old School Beach Ride

Journal

So I was checking out the forums on http://bmxmuseum.com the other day & saw that a crew of old-school BMX riders were meeting up Manhattan Beach & riding about 10 miles down the beach bike path to Redondo. I’ve never been on one of these rides with the old-school BMX heads. So I figured “What the heck!?” & drove up & up with the crew of 35+ riders. Dudes on VDC’s, GT Performers, 26″ Redlines, DG’s, Robinson’s, and Haro Master’s.

I didn’t know any of the dudes, but we all got to know each other a bit along the ride. It was cool to hang with some BMXer’s who were not involved whatsoever in the BMX industry. I kind of got “out of my bubble” so to speak & had a good time with the dudes. You can bet that if I’m in the country & in town, I’ll be hitting up these group rides more often.
