Check out my newest most favortisit bike I built up today. The 29″ wheel Big Ripper. So dope! Last year’s model was flat black with gray decals. A really monotone colorway. But this year, I completely flipped the script & went with a white/blue color scheme. It came out so fresh. In year’s past, we’ve had some trouble with getting our anodized colors to match. But on this bike, all the blues match perfectly.

It’s raining a bit here at home today, so I didn’t get to ride it down to the beach. But I did ride it around my neighborhood & two different neighbors stopped me in my tracks & came out to the street & wanted to ride it. Ha ha. I love it when SE bikes get that type of reaction.

If you see a short bald headed dude doing wheelies on a big ass BMX bike at the beach, more than likely it’s me. Ha ha. See ya at the beach!

Wet Sheep

Man, Sheep Hills was BOOMIN’ before So Cal got the 100 year storm last month. And it hasn’t helped that there have been other sporadic rains that have came through as well every other week or so since then. Peep the pics below. I took these the other week when it looked like Sheep was “just about” dried up. But seeing as it’s supposed to rain again tomorrow and again on Sat, the Sheep forecast isn’t looking too good. Oh wells, I’m heading to Philly on Sunday for a couple weeks anyways. -Hopefully it dries up by the time I’m back. I’ve got some radness to attend to….

I think I was born with muscles. Ha ha. This is one of the 1st times I went to Florida for a race. 11yrs old in 1983.

The O.C. Crush Ride

Last night we went on the inaugural O.C. Crush ride. This ride is the mastermind of Robbie Miranda & the purpose is to get a crew of our BMX buddies out every other week on Tuesday nights for a 40-mile(ish) road ride through the streets of the OC. It seems like in the past 5 years or so all of our lives have gone in completely separate directions & the guys we used to see every other weekend at the races, now we’re lucky if we see each other once a year. So this ride is a chance for each of us to get out do something different, get some exercise, and catch up with some BMX homies.

Last night was the first ride. We’re gonna head out on them every other Tuesday night at 9:30pm, meeting up @ the Starbucks on the corner of Brookhurst & Adams. All are invited. We were 8-deep on the first ride & I assume that we will be 12-15 deep on average once the weather gets a wee bit warmer. And speaking of which, the weather was PERFECT last night. I was riding in shorts & a short sleeve t-shirt & I was pretty comfy.

Last night the crew consisted of Miranda, myself, Alan Foster, Brian Lopes, Sean Hargraves, some other dude, and my sister & Mickey Diamond (motocross dude). We handled 40 fun miles through north Orange County. You can see our excact route at the link below:

This road riding stuff is pretty fun. But mind you that I ride my PK Ripper Single Speed 700c bike. I still am not down for a bunch of gears, clipless pedal & drop bars, spandex & that normal roadie stuff. But don’t worry, I can do more than just hang. I can keep up quite well. And believe it or not, I’m usually one of the fastest ones up any of the hills, even with my 48-16 gearing with BMX cranks. -Keep it real, dog! Ha ha….

Back in Cali

Dang, I’ve been slackin’ with the updates. Sorry about that. It just seems like my life is in a whirlwind & it’s hard for me to keep up. Hmm, I guess that’s better than being bored, right? Right!

So I got back from Thailand the other day & have been having some chill time @ home in Huntington Beach. Man, you gotta love it when it’s in the mid 70’s in the middle of February! I think I brought some of the Thailand warmth back with me. Love it.

I am back here @ home for the next couple weeks. Then it’s back to Philly for a couple weeks in the office. I’m gonna stop in Columbus, OH on my way back. I’m WAY overdue to stop in & hang with my parents & some high school peeps. I’ll hit up some SE shops while I’m there as well.

So I was FINALLY looking over the NBL & ABA schedules to see what races I may go to. And hmmmm, it looks like I may be at more than a few races this season. I’m contemplating racing the 35-40 expert class. I haven’t really raced at all in the last 3 years & I’m sure I’d have way more fun racing with them dudes rather than the Vet Pro dudes. Hmmm, we’ll see. Knowing me, I’m all talk & won’t even race this year. But ya never knows!

I headed over to Thailand this past weekend after my work trip in China. It’s been so fun! Wild & crazy as usual. I’ll post up some more pics soon. I’m headed back into Bangkok tomorrow to meet up with our Thailand distributor. Then back to Cali on Wed. A short, but sweet trip!
